Folens: New on-line teaching resource

31.3.2010 Folens: New on-line teaching resource
Tinopolis help publishing giant Folens enhance their educational resources with a new on-line, interactive teaching environment. Responsible  for developing and hosting http://www.folensonline.ie Tinopolis have produced the site to enable Folens to deliver popular workbooks in digital format to Primary and Secondary schools throughout Ireland.

Key features include an interactive book player, whiteboard functionality, an on-line saving facility allowing the user to develop a personal bank of content and a resource area for uploading supplementary learning assets. The ability to personalise the content to meet a teacher's own classroom needs is what makes this resource so unique in the publishing and educational sector.

Backend functionality includes a Content Management System and PDF tool allowing Folens to import existing / future workbooks and convert to high resolution interactive content.

The environment provides an enlarged format of the book to engage the whole class; the facility to design lessons based on a text book in a manner suitable for different learning styles and levels, supports classroom management by putting resources at teacher's fingertips and generally increases the enjoyment of lessons for both pupils and teacher.
